New Bill

Tabled by Carole Freeman of the Bloc Quebecois, a new bill could make it a criminal offence to vandalize any building occupied by an identifiable minority group. It's not surprising that the impetus for this move comes from a Quebec MP, as that is the province that seems to have the most serious problems with religious tolerance. Hate crimes in Quebec have been sharply on the rise in the last few years.
